Discover The Eternal City

Day 1 – Arrival Day
Welcome to Rome!  After your arrival into Rome’s FCO airport, you will be met by your private driver who will transfer you to your accommodations in the heart of Rome. Today is a day of getting on schedule and relaxing.  Spend some time walking about the streets of Rome, stopping in piazzas and soaking up the life.  Grab a gelato or aperitivo and watch the world go by – You’re in Italy!

An optional day or evening tour can be added.

Day 2 - Ancient Treasures
Step back in time as you explore the best of Ancient Rome on your private 4-hour tour of the Coliseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.  You will dig through the layers of Rome’s history from its pagan roots through to Christian times.

  • The Coliseum has been the emblem of Rome for its inhabitants and visitors for nearly 2,000 years. Fifteen stories high and covering 7.5 acres, this elliptical amphitheater in the center of Rome, is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

  • According to ancient tradition, it was on the Palatine hill that the first settlement of Rome was made by Romulus in the mid eighth century B.C. The Emperor Augustus made the Palatine his official power-center and initiated a building program, which saw the construction of imperial palaces while excavations have revealed huts and tombs from the Iron Age.

  • The Roman Forum was the monumental main square of ancient Rome. Around the center were the most important public and religious buildings in the city.

Your guide will weave fascinating tales of intrigue and power struggles, murder and ambition while at the same time highlighting the civilization and law, beauty and religious piety.  Ancient Rome will be brought back to life with stories of emperors, philosophers and great politicians. From Vestal Virgins to slaves and gladiators, you will follow the fascinating history and traditions of the evocative era of Julius Caesar, Mark Antony and Cleopatra to Augustus, Cicero and Nero.

Day 3 - Vatican City: St. Peter’s Basilica & Vatican Museums
This private 4-hour tour gives a fascinating in-depth visit to the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica with ample time to appreciate the wealth of sacred and profane history, art and religious works contained within its fortified walls. With your guide you will explore the Vatican City in its entire splendor with a focus on hidden symbols, secrets, myths and stories along with its poignant great works of art and their history giving you an insider's view that you will never forget.

Day 4 - Rome Gastronomic Tour
Get ready to experience 4 hours of tastings in the best places of Rome, frequented by true Romans and by those who want to enjoy authentic and slow-food in this magnificent city. Your guide will accompany you from breakfast to lunch, with tastings of sliced meats and cheeses, continuing with gelato and to finish off, as Romans do, with a coffee and the best 360° view of Rome. You will enjoy tastings of the best foods that the Roman countryside and the culinary traditions of this city can offer. Your tour is not only about food but also about culture and traditions. With this tour, your guide will lead you on a special pathway where they can discover the hidden corners of Rome while tasting amazing food.

Day 5 – Departure Day

Rome, the Eternal City, is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It's the famed city of the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Rome, having been the cradle of one of the globe's greatest civilizations eve was a center of power, culture and religion, and exerted a huge influence over the world in its roughly 2800 years of existence.  Legend holds that Romulus and Remus founded Rome in 753 B.C. – Perhaps you've seen the mythical image of the two brothers suckled by the she-wolf.  

The historic center of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With wonderful palaces, millennium-old churches, grand romantic ruins, opulent monuments, ornate statues and graceful fountains, Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's and the world's most visited, famous, influential and beautiful capitals. 

Today, Rome has a growing nightlife scene and is also seen as a shopping heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world.
